The Canadian Hernia society offers a variety of benefits to our members. We encourage any surgeon or resident to join who is interested in hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction.
Knowledge
CHS members are given access to a library of hernia surgery videos. The videos are created by hernia experts and cover a variety of hernia repair techniques and anatomy.
Connect & Collaborate
A members' only discussion forum and searchable directory are available inside the Member Portal.
Canadian Surgery Forum
The largest surgical conference in Canada, comprised of General Surgeons and related sub-specialists. CHS has dedicated sessions covering all areas of abdominal wall reconstruction. Discounted registration available to CHS members.
Membership Levels
Once you reach the payment step, be sure to select CHS as the desired chapter, you can also choose to join the following societies without any additional application: Canadian Association of General Surgeons, Canadian Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, Canadian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and/or Canadian Society of Surgical Oncology.
Fellow Member
- Renewal: Annual
- Membership Fee: $150.00
- Application: Practitioners active in the practice of hernia repair, legally licensed to practice Medicine, with active practices in Canada. Shall be in compliance with the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Affiliate Member
- Renewal: Annual
- Membership Fee: $125.00
- Application: Open to any individual interested in the practice of hernia repair, and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.
Fellowship Trainee
- Renewal: Annual
- Membership Fee: $125.00
- Application: Open to any individual currently undertaking a fellowship in Canada or the United States.
Resident
- Membership Fee: Free
- Application: Open to any individual currently enrolled in a Canadian residency program with an interest in the practice of hernia repair, and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction.
